Cool

you look at us
and think we’re cool.

cool because we lean against walls,
cool because we wear hats and headwraps,
cool because we recline with ease,
cool because we touch friends tenderly,
cool because we smile our mouths wide open,
cool because we put hands on hips,
cool because we wear gold,
cool because we plait our hair,
cool because we wine our waist,
cool because we look you in the eye.
